Jessica Logan - Guitar and Vocals

Jessica has been a part of the PNW acoustic music scene for decades.  As a musician, vocalist and music educator, she has performed just about every venue and festival in the region (The Seattle Art Museum, the Triple Door, Pike Place Market's Pink Door, Djangofest NW, and bla bla bla) and many places on the West coast. She has contributed her compositions and performance to numerous recording projects, including three albums with her former popular band, Zazou (which currently has over 100,000 followers on streaming platforms around the world).  Jessica specializes in Hot Club Style Jazz and sung French Cafe Music, and secretly she will pick up a fiddle from time to time.  Speaking of French Cafe music, it was while living in France as a young person that she found her passion for the music she plays today.  She spent many years primarily as a vocalist, MC and bassist for Zazou; then after not enough serious reflection, she decided that a string is too damned heavy to tote around, so has shifted her focus to guitar.

Bobbi Nikles - Violin and Vocals

Port Townsend based fiddler, Bobbi Nikles performs in a wide array of bands: oldtime, Irish, Jazz combos, and contradance bands., such as swing jazz with Jessica Logan, Ryan Hoffman & Tracy Grisman, Irish music with Black Brothers Band and Old time music and songs with Jere Canote. She has been a contributor to Strings magazine. She founded and  directed  the acclaimed day camp for young fiddlers-Fiddlekids- in Berkeley, CA.   She taught at  YEA (youth enrichment in the arts) in Port Townsend and at Centrum’s Festival of American Fiddletunes.

Tracy Grisman - Bass and Vocals

Described as “solid” by the Roanoke Times, bass fiddle player Tracy Grisman has been  holding down the rhythm for over twenty years. 

Tracy’s first instrument was the cello, which she picked up in fifth grade. At fifteen she  turned to folk guitar and songwriting, but her direction shifted in 1997 when she began a  more serious study of the blues and jazz on guitar with teacher Chuck Easton and the late great Pete Tone.
In 2001 she met her husband — composer and virtuoso mandolinist David Grisman —  just as she was beginning to explore the bass, which soon became her musical home.  Today, Tracy performs a wide repertoire of jazz standards and traditional Italian tunes  and continues to learn and perform many of David’s compositions. 
“I continue to chip away at melodies and rhythms. Playing music is food for the soul.”

Ryan, a specialist in the Hot Club Jazz genre, studied in Europe with some of the greats of this style.  He has been on the PNW music scene for years with bands such as Zazou and  Pearl Django.  Ryan has shared the stage with many renowned artists, including Martin Taylor, Fapy Lafertin, Bucky Pizzarelli, Larry Coryell, Howard Alden, Andreas Oberg, Robin Nolan, Tcha Limberger, Olli Sokkeli, and more.

​Angie (drums/percussion) is known for being highly versatile & adaptable, creative & solid - yet willing to lean into or even incite the unexpected. Angie has performed as a leader and side musician in jazz & Caribbean groups, rock & pop bands, musical theater productions & symphony orchestras, original artists, tribute & cover bands, accompanying choral groups, and touring with a variety of musical acts. Angie’s current projects, Intensive Porpoises and Caribe, are always crowd favorites!

Angie is also a dedicated music educator. In addition to maintaining a private lesson studio, Angie has been on faculty for Centrums’s youth programs, was adjunct faculty for a community college in Southern California, directed community steeband groups, coached high school drum lines, and taught at Swan School in Port Townsend.

Angie earned a Bachelor of Music in Percussion Performance (CSU, Long Beach) and Master of Music in Percussion Performance (U. of Northern Colorado, Greeley).

Dana Sullivan lives in Port Townsend and plays drums in a variety of groups from jazz to Western Swing, to Democracy Bucket Brigade. Dana is also a graphic designer and children’s book author/illustrator and encourages everyone to indulge their artistic passion, no matter how weird or noisy.

Jennie Mayer is a Seattle-based rhythm guitarist. She studied Jazz Manouche with Ryan Hoffman at Jazz Night School in 2016-2018 and has sought private lessons, homestays, and jazz camps in Portland, Boston, Montreal, Italy, and the Netherlands, where she had the opportunity to work with world-class musicians.  She is a co-founder of the all-female Lulu Swing Band, which specializes in 1930s hot club swing as well as French chansons and Latin rhythms. She also performs often with Whidbey-based ensemble Cafe Impromptu led by bassist Kristi O'Donnell. These two ensembles highlight the contributions of women (also female BIPOC and LGBTQIA+ musicians) in swing music. She has also performed with other Django Reinhardt-inspired groups, including Ranger and the Rearrangers, Nuages, the Lone Fir Hot Club, and the Hot Club of Port Townsend. Jennie has performed in many venues in Seattle, including the Smith Tower, Virginia V, Hotel Sorrento, Cornish College, and the NW Folklife Festival. She plays regularly with the Lulu Swing Band biweekly at S/T Hooligans in Ballard.
